Privacy policy
This policy explains how Salix Technologies handles information submitted through this website and Google user data accessed by SalixDrive.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to salixtechnologies.dev, its inquiry form, and SalixDrive, a desktop utility that connects an authorized computer to a user's own Google Drive. In this policy, “Salix,” “we,” and “our” refer to Salix Technologies.
SalixDrive does not provide a separate cloud-storage account. It lets a user work with storage already provided through that user's Google account.
2. Website information
When you submit the website inquiry form, we collect the information you choose to provide:
- Your name and work email address.
- Your organization, if provided.
- The project category and message you submit.
- The source of the inquiry and an internal inquiry reference.
We also process limited technical information, such as an IP address, request headers, and server logs, to deliver the site, prevent abuse, troubleshoot, and protect the service. The public site does not use advertising cookies. Essential session technology may be used for protected administrative functions.
3. Google user data
When you authorize SalixDrive, it may access Google Drive file and folder names, hierarchy, metadata, and file contents as necessary to show your Drive as a desktop folder and carry out file operations you initiate. Those operations can include listing, opening, downloading, uploading, creating, updating, moving, and deleting files or folders in your Google Drive.
SalixDrive transfers data directly between your authorized computer and Google Drive. Salix Technologies does not receive or store your Google Drive files on a Salix-operated server as part of this desktop connection.
Your OAuth authorization token and SalixDrive configuration are stored locally on the authorized device. A temporary local file cache may be used to make file transfers reliable and responsive. The cache remains on that device and is governed by its SalixDrive configuration.
4. How information is used
We use information only for the purposes described here:
- To provide the website and respond to inquiries.
- To record and route inquiries through Salix's operational systems.
- To provide user-requested SalixDrive file access and synchronization.
- To secure, maintain, diagnose, and improve the reliability of these services.
- To comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.
We do not sell Google user data or website inquiry data. We do not use Google Drive data for advertising, credit decisions, or to train general-purpose AI or machine-learning models.
5. Google API Limited Use
SalixDrive's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Salix does not permit human access to Google Drive data through SalixDrive unless you expressly ask for support and provide the specific information, access is needed to investigate a security or abuse issue, or access is required by law.
Read the official Google API Services User Data Policy.
6. Sharing
Website inquiry information may be processed by infrastructure providers that host the site, store inquiry records, prevent abuse, and deliver email. These providers process data only to provide their services to Salix and under their applicable agreements.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transaction where appropriate safeguards and required notices or consent apply. We do not transfer Google user data to data brokers, advertising platforms, or information resellers.
7. Retention and deletion
Website inquiries are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain operational records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete an inquiry by contacting us at the address below, subject to legal or security-related retention requirements.
SalixDrive's OAuth token remains on your device until you revoke access or remove the local SalixDrive configuration. Local cached files remain until they expire under the configured cache policy or you delete the cache. Files stored in Google Drive remain subject to your Google account settings and actions.
8. Your controls
You can control SalixDrive and your information by:
- Disconnecting or removing the SalixDrive desktop configuration.
- Deleting the local SalixDrive cache from your device.
- Revoking SalixDrive in your Google Account under Security and third-party connections.
- Contacting Salix to request access to, correction of, or deletion of website inquiry data.
Your rights may vary by location. We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. SalixDrive's direct device-to-Google design reduces unnecessary server-side handling of Drive files. No system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting access to your device, operating-system account, Google account, and recovery credentials.
10. Children
The website and SalixDrive are intended for business and personal productivity use and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through these services.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the services or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented through the site or another appropriate notice.
