Terms of service

These terms govern use of the Salix Technologies website and SalixDrive desktop utility.

Effective August 30, 2026

1. Agreement

By using salixtechnologies.dev or SalixDrive, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the applicable service. “Salix,” “we,” and “our” refer to Salix Technologies.

2. Website and inquiries

The website describes Salix's capabilities and provides a way to submit an inquiry. Website content is general information and is not a binding proposal, warranty, or professional-services agreement. Any paid engagement will be governed by a separate written agreement.

You agree that information submitted through the inquiry form is accurate and that you are authorized to provide it. Do not submit confidential, regulated, or highly sensitive data unless Salix has expressly agreed in writing to receive it.

3. SalixDrive

SalixDrive is a desktop file-access utility that connects an authorized device to the user's own Google Drive. It does not include a separate Salix-hosted storage allowance, does not expand Google storage quotas, and is not intended to circumvent Google's storage limits or policies.

You authorize SalixDrive to perform the Google Drive operations you initiate, including reading, transferring, creating, changing, moving, or deleting files. You remain responsible for your Google account, files, permissions, sharing choices, backups, and actions performed from your device.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the website or SalixDrive to:

  • Violate law, third-party rights, or Google's terms and policies.
  • Access an account, device, file, or system without authorization.
  • Distribute malware, interfere with service operation, or evade security controls.
  • Abuse storage quotas, create unauthorized file-sharding systems, or operate a content-delivery network.
  • Upload or share content you do not have the right to use.

5. Accounts and security

You are responsible for securing your device, Google account, OAuth access, passwords, and recovery methods. Promptly revoke SalixDrive access and secure your Google account if a device is lost, transferred, or compromised.

6. Ownership

You retain ownership of your files and information. These terms do not give Salix ownership of content stored in your Google Drive. Salix and its licensors retain rights in the website, branding, software configuration, documentation, and other materials they provide, subject to applicable open-source licenses.

7. Third-party services

SalixDrive depends on Google Drive, Google OAuth, your operating system, network connectivity, and supporting open-source software. Those services and components may have separate terms, privacy policies, limits, and availability. Google is responsible for Google Drive—not Salix—and may change or discontinue its APIs or your access under Google's terms.

8. Availability and changes

We may maintain, modify, suspend, or discontinue website or SalixDrive features. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. During OAuth testing, SalixDrive access may be limited to approved test users.

9. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website and SalixDrive are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. You should keep appropriate backups of important files and verify critical transfers.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Salix will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunity arising from use of the website or SalixDrive. Salix's total liability for a claim relating to a free service will not exceed the amount you paid Salix for that service during the preceding 12 months.

These limits do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be limited. A separate signed services agreement may provide different rights and remedies for paid work.

11. Termination

You may stop using SalixDrive at any time by disconnecting it and revoking its Google access. We may restrict access for misuse, security risk, legal necessity, or violation of these terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive will remain in effect after termination.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.

Questions about these terms may be sent to contact@salixtechnologies.dev.
